THE FUN STARTED WITH A TRAILRIDE IN THE MORNING. KELLY, SUSAN AND
ABIGALE BRAVED THE SWAMP FUN., ALONG WITH PATRICK THE LEADER AND
KAYLA AND KIMBERLY JOINED THE REAR. ABIGALE EVEN SPORTED A SWAN
DIVE INTO THE MARSH WHEN A PUPPY RAN OUT TO GREET US. SHE SCORED
A 9.5! ALL WAS WELL! SHE GOT INITIATED INTO THE BLUE CREEK SWAMP
RIDERS ASSOC.
THEN WE ALL TUCKED OUR HORSES IN AND ENJOYED COOL BEVERAGES BY
THE POOL. RITA, HOLLY, LESSIE CAME LATER FOR A WONDERFUL LUNCH.
THEN IT WAS MEETING TIME.....

3. CLINICS: MATT MCLAUGLIN IS SCHEDULED FOR THIS SATURDAY THE 26TH

4. FUTURE CLINICS: REQUEST FOR RIDE A TEST CLINIC IS IN THE WORKS.

RITA SUGGESTED THAT WE PARTICIPATE IN THE FL GMO CHAMPIONSHIPS.

3. Clinics for 2014 are shaping up. Charlotte Trentelman scheduled for Sunday January 12th at Stafford Hill, Bill Woods was tentatively scheduled for February but lack of location and possible expenses led the group to cancel this event while other options are explored. Charlotte Trentleman is scheduled for Saturday March 1st, but a location is needed. Karin and Claudia will check with some barns that may want to host.
4. Jane Savoie update – tickets are live on ticketbud.com
5. Discussion of show dates and locations for 2014. Using “The Oaks” will not be feasible if they cannot provide stalls. . Black Dog is not readily available either since they are running their own show series. Group discussed multiple other barns that could host our shows. Karin, Claudia and Holly will check with barns for availability. Will try to get Black Dog for February, will give us some breathing room. Judges for the shows are already scheduled.

6. Discussion of LDA T-shirts. Decision to provide logo to LLBean or Land’s End (whichever is more cost effective) and make that information available on the website – then anyone who wants to order a polo can order. This will make shirts available, without the club having to support stocking t-shirts. Suzanne Martinez has for action. Additionally Suzanne presented an idea for Jane Savoie T-shirt that was very well received and will be available during the seminar.
7. Claudia suggested the website needed some updating with more information on dressage. LeeAnn volunteered to help and will work with Holly.
8. Claudia suggested the club look at a field trip to a rated show or some other horse related event. Group discussed possibilities, but deferred a decision.
9. Meeting concluded at approximately 3:00 pm. Next meeting will be on January 5, 2014, at Stafford Hill Farms.

Clinic update: Following clinics – Charlotte Trentelman on November 17th is full (10 rides). I’ve contacted Charlotte about another date in the spring as I’ve had several people bummed about missing this one. Suggested we ask for two dates since she’s so popular and affordable.
Jane Savoie committee to meet after this meeting. Arena is approved although still waiting on contract to submit payment.

New Business: Need to buy a calculator for shows. Susan will take care of that. Voted that all judges at future shows will be at least judges within the “L” program of USDF or higher. Charlotte Trentelman Sunday November 17th at Stafford Hill – Cost?
Following clinics – Jane Savoie is a go! Fairgrounds are available March 22nd and 23rd 2014. $500 needed to reserve the arena. $780 per day is the cost of rental plus $43 per stall. Guesstimating 115 people per day at $75 will allow us to break even. A vote was held as to whether to proceed with securing the arena ($500 deposit). Approved by club to proceed. Suggestions were made as to how to best promote this event to make it as successful as possible including authorizing an advertising budget, writing articles, and advertising in various publications as well as online.
Website update: Need trainer and rider bios. Need online entry form worked out. Overall needs more updating.
Signs: Kimberly made some large, easy to read signs and donated them to the club. Thank you Kimberly!
New Business: Time to start discussing show dates for 2014. Rainie Dasch will look up conflicting dates. Holly will provide her with show series that we do not want to conflict with. Will discuss at the November meeting.
Claudia requested that working equitation dressage tests be added to the show bill for 2014. Just the tests (no obstacles). As interest grows - club will talk about adding obstacles.

Following clinics – Jane Savoie is a go! Fairgrounds are available March 22nd and 23rd 2014. $500 needed to reserve the arena. $780 per day is the cost of rental plus $43 per stall. Guesstimating 115 people per day at $75 will allow us to break even. A vote was held as to whether to proceed with securing the arena ($500 deposit). Approved by club to proceed. Suggestions were made as to how to best promote this event to make it as successful as possible including authorizing an advertising budget, writing articles, and advertising in various publications as well as online.
Website update: Need trainer and rider bios. Need online entry form worked out. Overall needs more updating.
Signs: Kimberly made some large, easy to read signs and donated them to the club. Thank you Kimberly!
New Business: Time to start discussing show dates for 2014. Rainie Dasch will look up conflicting dates. Holly will provide her with show series that we do not want to conflict with. Will discuss at the November meeting.
Claudia requested that working equitation dressage tests be added to the show bill for 2014. Just the tests (no obstacles). As interest grows - club will talk about adding obstacles.

Show Considerations: – We discussed updating the show bill to reflect our most used classes. Decided to leave classes as written but add show rider awards for 1) Rusty Stirrup Division (riders over the age of 55) and 2) New Faces Division (riders who have not participated in an LDA show in the last 5 years. Awards will go to high scoring rider in each division and will include a ribbon and prize.

Following clinics – Discussed bringing in Jane Savoie. Cost is about $75 - $100 per person with a 40 person minimum. She is in West Palm from November until April. Holly will check with her to see if she is available and planning will begin from there.
Upcoming shows: December 14th show discussed whether to change the date due to conflicting schedules. Due to already having the judge booked – decided to leave it as is on December 14th.
